Opioid Settlement
Wisconsin communities continue to feel the impact of the opioid epidemic. Through national legal settlements with opioid manufacturers, distributors, and pharmacies, counties and municipalities are receiving funds to support evidence-based prevention, treatment and recovery efforts.
Langlade County has established a task force to provide recommendations to the County Board for how to use the funds, consistent with applicable settlement agreements listed in Exhibit E (List of Opioid Remediation Uses).
The task force includes members from:

City of Antigo Policy Department
Langlade County Sheriff’s Department
Langlade County Diversion Program
Langlade County District Attorney
City of Antigo Mayor’s Office

Langlade County Corporation Counsel
In 2025, Langlade County conducted a multi-pronged community engagement effort to gather input on how these funds locally address the opioid crisis. Community engagement efforts included:
Stigma survey- targeting five key groups including general community, law enforcement, fire & rescue, healthcare providers and the recovery community.
General opioid funding survey with 107 responses.
One-on-one interviews with 9 individuals.
